Course Overview
The CertHE in Public Health offers a strong introduction to the key principles, policies, and practices that shape health and wellbeing in society today. This course is ideal for those looking to start a career in the public health sector or continue to higher education in health-related fields. You’ll explore how social, economic, environmental, and political factors influence population health, while also examining the role of health promotion, disease prevention, and public health interventions in improving community outcomes.

CertHE Public Health is offered by Canterbury Christ Church University in partnership with LSC. Students can choose from flexible class schedules such as Weekday, Evening, allowing them to balance education with other commitments. OPT Exemptions
You may be exempt from taking the LSC Online Proficiency Test if you meet one of the following criteria:
- Functional Skills Level 2 in English Language
- GCSE English Language with a minimum grade of 4 (or grade ‘C’ equivalent)
- IELTS (Academic or General) with an overall score of 5.0 or higher
Proof of ID Requirements
To apply, you must provide valid proof of identification. The following are accepted:
- A valid passport
OR
- A driving licence together with a birth certificate or travel document
Please note: Expired documents will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Recent Proof of Address Requirements
Please provide one of the following as proof of address. Documents must be full-page, clearly legible, and issued within the last 30 days prior to your interview date:
- A recent utility bill or council tax bill
(Mobile phone bills are not accepted)
- A bank statement showing recent transactions
(All four corners visible, full page required)
- A valid UK driving licence with your current address
