Bring your ideas to life through visual storytelling, creative experimentation and industry-ready design practice. On our BA (Hons) Graphic Design degree, you’ll develop skills in typography, editorial design, branding, motion graphics and user experience, while exploring the creative potential of both digital and print media.

From day one, you’ll work on live briefs and collaborative projects that reflect real industry challenges. You’ll experiment with different approaches, refine your creative identity, and build a professional portfolio that showcases your versatility as a designer.

With a strong focus on innovation and employability, you’ll graduate ready for the realities of today’s fast-paced design industry. Career paths include graphic designer, art director, UX/UI designer, motion graphic artist and creative content manager.

Stage 2

This stage builds on the key research, analytical and reflective skills built in Stage 1. You will also have the opportunity to explore specialist areas of study and focus on your chosen path within the creative arts or business.

Stage 3

You’ll undertake a self-directed, specialist project which will synthesise and conclude your newly learned knowledge. The Final Major Project consists of three units which include advanced language and study skills needed for progression onto an LCCA design or creative business undergraduate degree.


BA (Hons) Graphic Design is offered by University for the Creative Arts in partnership with LCCA. Students can choose from flexible class schedules such as Weekday, allowing them to balance education with other commitments. The programme is offered in Full Time study modes, ensuring accessibility for learners. It supports various academic pathways, including Level 5 levels, making it suitable for a wide range of students seeking professional or academic advancement. Entry Requirements

Foundation Year

The standard entry requirements for foundation year are one of the following:

  • 32 new UCAS tariff points, see accepted qualifications
  • Merit, Pass, Pass at BTEC Extended Diploma
  • Pass at UAL Extended Diploma
  • 32 new UCAS tariff points from an accredited Access to Higher Education Diploma in an appropriate subject
  • 24 points from the International Baccalaureate, see more information about IB entry requirements

And four GCSE passes at grade A*-C and/or grade 4-9 including English (or Functional Skills English/Key Skills Communication Level 2).

Non-Standard Entry

For applicants who do not meet standard academic entry criteria, a flexible entry policy will allow for:

No formal qualifications are required, but applicants must have 2 years of relevant work experience and English proficiency to be able to demonstrate understanding of business analysis, effective time management and working with others.

For any non-standard entry, an interview will be required to assess an applicant’s ability to meet the Level 3 qualification criteria/ benchmark.

Year 1

The standard entry requirements for the three-year course are one of the following:

  • 112 new UCAS tariff points
  • Pass at Foundation Diploma in Art & Design (Level 3 or 4)
  • Merit, Pass, Pass at BTEC Extended Diploma
  • Merit at UAL Extended Diploma
  • 112 new UCAS tariff points from an accredited Access to Higher Education Diploma in an appropriate subject
  • 27-30 points from the International Baccalaureate

And four GCSE passes at grade A*-C and/or grade 4-9 including English (or Functional Skills English/Key Skills Communication Level 2).

Other relevant and equivalent level 3 UK and international qualifications are considered on an individual basis, and we encourage students from diverse educational backgrounds apply. If your first language is not English, you will need an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent.
