Course Overview
The CertHE in Healthcare Practice is a course designed for those who want to pursue a career in healthcare. This programme provides a recognised qualification at level five, giving you the knowledge and skills needed for various healthcare roles.

You will continue to apply for your chosen degree while studying with us, and you can leave our course at the end of the first or second year once you secure your place in a degree programme.
In this course, you’ll gain essential knowledge in anatomy, physiology, health and wellbeing, and the Welsh healthcare context. You’ll also develop personal, academic, and professional skills while exploring person-centred care and the fundamentals of health and social care.
In your first year, you’ll build a strong foundation in human anatomy, health and wellbeing, and healthcare in Wales. You’ll also begin to develop essential academic, professional, and personal skills that will prepare you for a career in health and social care.
CertHE Healthcare Practice is offered by University of Wales Trinity Saint David in partnership with PEN. Students can choose from flexible class schedules such as Weekday, allowing them to balance education with other commitments. The programme is offered in Full Time study modes, ensuring accessibility for learners. It supports various academic pathways, including CertHE levels, making it suitable for a wide range of students seeking professional or academic advancement. Entry Requirement
Undergraduate Courses
▪ BA (Hons) Business Management (Weekend study option)
Entry Requirements:
A wide range of qualifications, which are equivalent to two A-Level passes, including European Baccalaureate. The University will generally accept A-Level and Edexcel awards and a range of other Certificates/Diplomas at Level 3 worth 120 credits.
Certificate of Higher Education Courses

▪ Certificate of Higher Education in Skills for the Workplace (Health and Social Care) (Weekdays and Weekend study option)
▪ Certificate of Higher Education Computing Skills for the Workplace
Entry Requirements:
We are interested in creative people that demonstrate a strong commitment to their chosen subject area, and therefore, we welcome applications from individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. To assess students’ suitability for their chosen course, we usually arrange on-campus assessments for all applicants at which their English language (Writing, speaking, listening, reading) skills, achievements and life experience will be considered.
For Certificate of Higher Education applicants under the age of 21:
Qualification Requirement:
▪ Applicants under 21 must hold Level 3 qualifications (e.g., A-levels, BTECs, Access to HE Diplomas etc.)
▪ The total UCAS tariff points from these qualifications must equal or exceed 64-80 points.
▪ Points may be accumulated from a range of qualifications.
Document Submission:
▪ Applicants must upload evidence of their qualifications to the qualifications section directly to the application portal
▪ A snapshot from the official UCAS Tariff Calculator (Calculate your UCAS Tariff points | UCAS) must also be uploaded, showing how the total points have been calculated.
Progression Route
* After successfully completing the Certificate of Higher Education Skills for the Workplace programme, students may progress onto the BA (Hons) Leadership and Management Skills for the Workplace programme Level 5 & 6.
* After successfully completing the Certificate of Higher Education Skills for the Workplace (Health and Social Care) programme, students may progress onto the BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care programme Level 5 & 6.
*After successfully completing the Certificate of Higher Education Computing Skills for the Workplace, students may progress onto the BSc (Hons) Applied Computing.

Entry Requirements:
Normally, the possession of a minimum of a 2:2 UK first degree or an equivalent international qualification recognised by Ecctis or work experience of five years at a senior managerial level in lieu of first degree*
*work experience should be presented in the form of letters from employers on the company letterhead paper, signed and dated.
▪ Doctor of Business Administration
Entry Requirements:
Master’s degree generally with a Merit classification or an overall mark of minimum 60% in an area relevant to the doctoral programme, awarded by a UK or other recognised University or higher education institution.
