Newcastle Group is the partner pathway AF Education lists for funded undergraduate study at a London (Canary Wharf) campus. It suits mature students and career changers who want to begin or return to higher education in the capital without relocating to the North East.

AF Education supports England-resident home students applying for Student Finance England. Tuition fee loans are paid to the institution, and maintenance loans are paid to you for living costs during study.

Subjects currently listed include Business, Computing, and Health and Social Care. Advisers can talk through entry requirements and any foundation year options on the live course list.

The active campus for this pathway is Canary Wharf (Exchange Tower Harbour, Exchange Square, 9th and 10th Floor, London E14 9GE), and the next intake there is February 2027.

Six courses are listed: CertHE in Health and Social Care, CertHE in Business, FdA in Health and Social Care, FdA in Business Management, CertHE in Software Engineering with Artificial Intelligence and FdSc Software Engineering with Artificial Intelligence. The Business CertHE and FdA are also listed on weekend timetables. Campus courses typically need 1 to 2 campus days a week at about 2 to 4 hours a day, plus independent study, and the exact timetable is confirmed before you enrol.

A CertHE is a one-year Level 4 award and a foundation degree (FdA or FdSc) runs to Level 5, so these are shorter steps than a full honours degree. GOV.UK lists both as course types eligible for a Tuition Fee Loan, up to £9,790 full-time in 2026/27, and the London Maintenance Loan is up to £14,135, depending on household income.

Newcastle Group offers 6 funded courses through AF Education, with campuses in Birmingham, London. Every course is eligible for Student Finance England funding — tuition is paid directly to the university and you receive a maintenance loan for living costs.
