Agent Commission Policy

This policy applies to recruitment agents contracted under an Agent Commission Agreement with AF Associates UK. Base commission is £500 per student, with volume bonuses up to £1,200 per student. Last updated: 3 July 2026.

See also the Commission Policies hub or Become Our Agent overview.

Important — new agents only

This page describes the commission policy for new agents joining AF Associates UK. If you are an existing agent, your rates may be lower or higher than shown here, and you may have a separate bonus structure under your current agreement.

The information on this page may differ from your signed Agent Commission Agreement. Your contract — not this public policy page — is the source of truth for what you are paid.

AF Associates UK may change this policy at any time. Any updates apply as set out in your agreement (including whether changes affect new placements only or require written agreement).

Commission structure

Agent commission has two parts: a base rate paid in instalments as students progress, and a volume bonus for amounts above the base rate when your monthly enrolment volume qualifies.

  • Undergraduate & Master’s placements: rates are set in your individual Agent Commission Agreement — flat rate or percentage of tuition fee, as applicable.
  • Base commission: £500 per successful student placement, paid in instalments on the schedule below.
  • Volume bonus: any amount above £500 per student based on your enrolment volume tier (see below).
  • Commission is paid only after AF Associates has received qualifying payment from the institution for the referred student.

Volume tiers

Commission per student increases with your average monthly enrolment volume. Amounts above £500 are treated as a volume bonus.

Students / month (avg.) Base commission / student Volume bonus / student Example monthly earnings
1–2 £500 £1,000 (2 students)
3–4 £500 £100 £2,400 (4 students)
5–6 £500 £200 £4,200 (6 students)
7–8 £500 £300 £6,400 (8 students)
9–10 £500 £400 £9,000 (10 students)
10+ £500 £700 £14,400 (12 students)

Track commission and bonus history in the CRM

Sign in to the AF Associates CRM and visit the Students tab to see each placed student, instalment status (upcoming, due, or paid), and base commission progress. Your bonus history — including each July and January review, averaged monthly volume, and bonus payments — is available on your agent profile.

Volume bonus reviews

Volume bonuses are not paid with each base instalment. They are reviewed twice a year and calculated from your recent enrolment performance.

  • Reviews run every July and January.
  • Each review looks at the previous 6 months of successful student placements.
  • We count successful students per calendar month, then average those six monthly totals to determine your volume tier.
  • If a bonus is payable, it is paid in the following month (August after a July review, February after a January review).

Review calendar

Review month 6-month period counted Bonus paid in (if payable)
July January – June August
January July – December February

Example: July review

Suppose your successful student counts for January–June were:

Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Average Tier
4 6 5 7 6 8 6 5–6 students
Result: An average of 6 students per month places you in the 5–6 tier — £200 volume bonus per student. With 36 successful students in the review period, the bonus total is £7,200, paid in August if payable. Before payment, the Company may carry out a further check for any withdrawn students and adjust the bonus accordingly. After payment, if any student from that review period later withdraws, the bonus will be adjusted against the next payment.
Bonus history: Each review is recorded on your agent profile so you can see the months counted, monthly totals, average, tier applied, bonus amount, and payment date.

Base commission payment schedule

Base commission (£500 per student) is paid in 3 equal instalments of 33% each, due at 4, 8, and 12 months after the student’s intake month, unless your agreement states otherwise.

#3 September 2026 £165.00

Your signed agreement and the CRM show the exact schedule for each placed student. Visit the Students tab for instalment status and your agent profile for bonus history.

If a student withdraws

If a placed student withdraws, defers, is terminated, or drops out before completing one full academic year, commission for that student may be reversed.

What happens

  • Unpaid instalments are marked as withdrawn and will not be paid.
  • Paid base commission may be clawed back (recovered).
  • Volume bonuses already paid for that student may also be recovered if the placement no longer qualifies.
  • Recovery may be by direct repayment or deduction from future commission payments.

Examples

Scenario

You place a student who successfully enrols. Two base instalments (£335.00 total) have been paid.

Outcome

The student withdraws. The remaining scheduled instalments are cancelled. The base commission already paid may be clawed back.

Scenario

A volume bonus was paid for that student at the last July review. The student later withdraws in the following academic year.

Outcome

The bonus paid for that placement may be recovered alongside any clawback of base commission, using the same recovery methods.

Tax & expenses

Agents are responsible for their own income tax, VAT, and National Insurance on commission earned. Any company-covered costs may be deducted from commission at payment.

General

  • This policy is incorporated by reference into Agent Commission Agreements.
  • Changes after your signing date apply only where agreed in writing.
  • All amounts are in GBP (£) unless otherwise stated.
