Contracted partners

Partner Commission Policy

This policy applies to self-employed partners under a Partner Services Agreement with AF Associates UK. Last updated: 3 July 2026.

See the Commission Policies hub for referral and agent policies.

Commission structure

Your commission is set out in your signed Partner Services Agreement. We do not publish partner rates on this page — your contract is the source of truth for the amount you earn per placement.

  • Direct placements: commission of the amount stated in your agreement per successful student (shown in your contract as your placement commission rate).
  • Sub-agent students: where you manage files referred through a sub-agent arrangement, you receive the sub-agent commission amount stated in your agreement — not the full direct placement rate. This is paid together with the agent payment on the first qualifying payment.
  • Commission is paid only for students who successfully enrol and meet the qualifying milestone in this policy.
  • If your agreement is renewed or amended, any new rates apply only from the date agreed in writing by both parties.

Track upcoming and due payments in the CRM

Sign in to the AF Associates CRM and visit the Students tab to see your students and commission — including your contracted commission type (direct placement or sub-agent) and whether each payment is upcoming, due, or paid. Due dates are calculated from each student’s intake month using the schedule in this policy.

Monthly targets

Partners have minimum monthly successful-student targets (part-time and full-time thresholds as set in the agreement). Sub-agent students are included in target counts. Failure to meet targets may affect agreement renewal.

Payment schedule

Unlike recruitment agents (who are paid in instalments), partner commission is paid in full in a single payment for each qualifying student.

  • Payment becomes due 4 months after the student’s intake month (the month their course starts).
  • We process payment during the last week of the due month, once the placement is verified.
  • You invoice AF Associates for commission earned; payment is made within 30 days of a valid invoice, subject to verification.

When payment is due

Student intake month Partner payment due (full amount)
January May 2025 (last week)
February June 2025 (last week)
March July 2025 (last week)
April August 2025 (last week)
May September 2025 (last week)
June October 2025 (last week)
July November 2025 (last week)
August December 2025 (last week)
September January 2026 (last week)
October February 2026 (last week)
November March 2026 (last week)
December April 2026 (last week)

Example: September 2025 intake

A student who enrols with a September 2025 start date has their full partner commission scheduled for January 2026 (processed in the last week of that month).

Example: September 2025 intake → full commission due in January 2026. The exact amount is the rate shown in your Partner Services Agreement for that placement type.
Example: You place two direct students in the same intake month — each earns the per-student commission stated in your agreement, each with its own due date 4 months after that intake. Sub-agent files follow the sub-agent commission amount in your agreement instead.

Payment months depend on each student’s confirmed intake. Sign in to the CRM and visit the Students tab to see your students and commission — scheduled, due, and paid.

If a student withdraws

If a placed student withdraws, defers, is terminated, or their placement is adjusted by the university so it no longer qualifies, commission for that student may be reversed. This protects both parties when a placement does not complete as expected.

What happens

  • Not yet paid: the scheduled commission for that student is cancelled and will not be invoiced or paid.
  • Already paid: the full commission amount paid for that student (as stated in your agreement) may be clawed back (recovered).
  • Partial recovery: if only part of the commission was paid before withdrawal, that paid portion may be recovered.

How we recover commission

  • Direct repayment — you return the amount to AF Associates; or
  • Offset against future commission — the amount is deducted from a future payment on another qualifying student.

Examples

Scenario

You place a direct student who successfully enrols. Their full partner commission (the amount in your agreement) is still upcoming in the CRM.

Outcome

The student withdraws before the due month. The scheduled payment is cancelled — nothing is paid and nothing is owed.

Scenario

The same student completes enrolment, you are paid the full commission amount stated in your agreement, and the CRM marks the payment as paid.

Outcome

The student later withdraws or defers. That full paid amount may be clawed back by direct repayment or by offset against your next qualifying commission payment.

Scenario

You manage a sub-agent file. The sub-agent commission from your agreement was paid, then the university adjusts the placement.

Outcome

The sub-agent commission paid for that file may be recovered using the same methods above. Your CRM commission record will reflect any clawback or offset applied.

General

  • This Partner Commission Policy is incorporated by reference into Partner Services Agreements.
  • Changes after the agreement signing date apply only where agreed in writing by both parties.
  • Partners are independent contractors responsible for their own tax and National Insurance.
  • All amounts are in GBP (£) unless otherwise agreed in your contract.
